This weekend left me thinking...

This weekend I went home to see friends and visit with my family and now I'm confused more than ever. I love where I go to school, don't get me wrong. But after this weekend and talking with family and friends, I might transfer to a college back home.

It's a HUGE difference. Next year is so stressful with housing, friends leaving, rushing, and everything that I'm considering going back home.
Probably one of the biggest, life changing decisions I have made thus far.

Of course, being the list maker I am, made a pro and con list. I have it hung on my armoire so everyday I can look at it, add to it and maybe I'll be able to decide.
I think I'm set on my decision, I'm just scared it's the wrong one.

But this weekend was a lot of fun. Since the weather was so nice, me and two of my best friends went to the beach and had a girls day! It was so nice and much needed.

Also me and my mom went for a walk Saturday and Sunday morning. It was so nice just to be able to catch up and just tell my mom everything on my mind. I don't think I have blogged much about family but I'm really close to mine. (That's one pro of moving home to go to school). My mom is such an amazing lady and I have never met someone with a heart as big as hers. She literally would give someone the shirt off her back if need be and she would do anything for me and my sister.

Us in Brevard, NC for Thanksgiving

Picture of a turtle in the road on one of our walks!! (We saved him and put him by the pond)

But I need to watch the Oscars, I'm not good at multitasking! By the way, did y'all see everyones dresses!?! Oh how I wish I was there

PS I'm still working on the design of my blog. I can not figure out for the life of me how to make a title like EVERYONE who has a blog does. Any tips?

Throwing in the towel

It has been 9 days, and I am giving up on the photo challenge.
You wouldn't think so, but it's  challenge in itself to keep up with everyday AND to figure out what picture I wanted to post and a story to go along with it. I felt like it was sucking the energy out of me to the point it wasn't fun. Honestly, I was starting to dread posting, so I'm throwing in the towel on this one!

Sorry everyone!!

I follow My two cents..before I spend it and she has given up too! So it makes me feel better that I am not the only one!

Well today was yet another beautiful day. I was able to fit in a run to the battery and it was just gorgeous on the water. After my much needed run, I went with my roommate Amanda to Cupcake on King Street to satisfy my sweet tooth (and hey I deserve it after my run, right?!?!?) Last week they had a special, if you went to their Facebook and signed up you could get a buy 1 get 1 free coupon, and thats just what I did!

This is my german chocolate cupcake!

I also got a strawberry one, but I ate that before I remembered to take a pictures. (oops!) I'm saving this one for tomorrow after my dreadful spanish exam. Now I have something to look forward to! If you haven't been to Cupcake before, their cupcakes are to die for!! I would go everyday if they weren't so bad for you, but seeing as how much sugar and calories is in each one I would probably be 500 pounds by the end of the semester!

One more day till the weekend!!

Day 8- A picture that makes you laugh

Well, hello!
Today's photo is not that interesting, I have been trying to figure out all day what I am going to post and this is the only picture that came to mind.

In January we went to my friends beach house in Myrtle Beach for my birthday. We had such a fun weekend away from home..well dorm!! One night we were being silly, and started to do the Bernie.
If you don't what that dance is, its one of the funniest dances to actually try doing and watch someone do. (Click here if you haven't seen it!) We looked so ridiculous, but thinking back on that night just makes me laugh.

On another note, I have officially decided I'm going to start to take tennis back up! I'm so excited because I haven't played since high school. I was on varsity from 8th-11th grade, then because of a health problem, I was not able to play my senior year.
This weekend I have to go back home, so I'm going to pick up my racket while I'm there!

I'm sorry my blogs have been so short and to the point!! We have midterms this week, so it's been hectic studying for them.

Happy hump day though!

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item

Hey everybody!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous Tuesday so far. Today is Day 7 of the photo challenge and
I was trying to think of what my most treasured item would be that I brought to college so I could post a pic of it. I left all the jewelry that means anything to me at my house, in fear of it getting stolen or losing it. But thinking about it, I think I have two items that I brought to college that I don't think I could live without.

I absolutely love my computer. I am on it ALL the time, especially now that I am blogging. I'm trying to keep up with whats going on with celebs, fashion, music, etc.

But there is another item that might seem strange that i treasure oh so very deeply.
About  4 years ago my boyfriend let me wear one of his hoodies home. I was freezing and he offered one of his sweatshirts . It's just simply a grey relay for life hoodie that he got after his step mom passed away with cancer, so even though it was just a clothing article--it meant something to him.

Honestly I am not sure how it began but I started sleeping with it like a baby blanket. I HAVE to have it to sleep with now. No matter where I go--I bring it. If I don't have it,  I can't sleep. When I had my surgery this summer, I still couldn't talk because I have the breathing tube in but on a piece of paper I wrote "hoodie" and my mom knew exactly what that meant. Luckily she brought it with her because she knows my obsession.

But off to class!!

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

Hey guys! Well I skipped class today (still feeling under the weather) so now I have plenty of time to blog! If I could trade places with anyone for the day, it would have to be Kate Bosworth.

Kate Bosworth

I have been obsessed with her since Blue Crush came out. (It probably is still one of my favorite movies still)! Kate is so fashion forward and classy. She can pull off the "I look like I just threw this outfit on" look, and it's flawless-everytime.

On another note, about a week ago I blogged about those Sally Hansen nail polish stickers.

imgres.jpg

I was shopping yesterday and I saw a women at Forever 21 with them on. I asked her about them and she said that she thought they were a little expensive, she said about $8.50. Also that it was very time consuming to cut around each nail, it took her about 45 minutes. She also said that within a hour, she messed a nail up buttoning her pants. So I don't think it's worth the hassle personally. I still ask around to get other opinions--I would hate to be biased off just one person!

I'm bummed I missed the season premier of Housewives of Miami last night!!! I started watching it but fell asleep. I'm sure Bravo will rerun it 100 times before next Sunday.

I hope y'all have a wonderful Monday!!

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory

Well everyone, let's just say I feel 100 times better than yesterday. I probably slept 20 hours yesterday and night.  But geesh, that was miserable.

So today is a picture of my favorite memory. I'm starting to have a bit of a problem because I got a new computer over the summer, so I literally just have pictures from only a few months ago. It's quite unfortunate.

But then I realized  I can get some off Facebook! Sometimes I'm a little air headed I think.
But my favorite memory is going to Hawaii with my dad and my sister a few summers ago. We stayed on Maui, which was the most beautiful place in the world.

Heres a picture of one of the pools and the beach behind it.

I was laying out on the beach and Rev Run walked by. (My sister and Dad are in the background). I actually spoke with him and his wife and they sat beside us for brunch one morning.

We ate dinner at one the restaurants  called Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, which is Hawaii's state fish. It was SO good.

This is me and my sister at a luau  .

Is this not the most gorgeous picture ever?! It's not photoshopped or anything. I took it on our way back from scuba diving.

Here's a picture of our hotel. It was the most beautiful hotel. It's called The Grand Wailea Resort and I would die to go back.

One day we island hopped (took a plan  and flew over) to the big island and visited Peal Harbor. I was speechless when leaving. This is a picture from inside the USS Arizona. Oil was still leaking from one of the ships, and it was an experience I will never forget.

This was so fun, I was snuba-ing. Its half snorkel and half scuba. The fish I saw were just so vibrant and beautiful.

We woke up at 4 in the morning, took a bus to the top of this mountain to watch the sun rise. It was so neat BUT it was absolutely freezing. When I packed for Hawaii, I didn't pack pants and jackets. So I found some Juicy sweat pants I brought and I bought a long sleeve tee-shirt. THANKFULLY the people there gave out parkas and gloves.

Here's Waikiki Beach. It was so fun to watch the surf boarders catch a wave while eating lunch!

Well everybody, I have to get ready. One of my friends are coming up from our home town to go shopping on King Street for the day! I'm so excited!

Day 04 - A picture of your night & Advice for summer!

Hey everybody! I hope everyone enjoyed this lovely weather outside today! I unfortunately didn't even take a step out the door. I think I have food poisoning AND sun poisoning.

This is no good. So here's my advice to you. I was being such a cheap-o and refused to buy sunscreen at the CVS downtown because everything is so expensive, basically they rob you of your money. So I didn't buy any sunscreen and figured that I tan easily and only burn that one time I would be fine.

WRONGGG!!! My faee was basically Crayola red and my legs and arms got a good bit of sun too. So last night I was a pain trying to put makeup on to go out to a local restaurant with some friends and tone down the color a bit.

This morning I woke up and felt absolutely horrible. I think I ate bad chicken as well as had too much sun. So my advice, wear sunscreen the first time you lay out. Don't think you don't need it, because you do. I keep saying my goal this summer actually is to wear sunscreen everyday I'm in the sun (obviously I'm doing a horrible job already)!

So needless to say, my picture for the challenge, which is a picture of my night, is going to be nothing spectacular. This girl will be laying in her bed for the rest of her night drinking water and Powerade.

Here's what I would be wearing if I did go out tonight though :
OOTD

Hope y'all have a fun Saturday night!

Day 3 Photo Challange and my day so far!

Hey everyone! As y'all know, I'm doing the 30 photo challenge so here is day 3:

Housewives of Beverly Hills is by far my most favorite show!
I am obsessed. I love all the Housewives shows, but Atlanta is not that interesting to me.
I'm excited for the new season, I think it's Miami...not 100% positive. I remember seeing a preview but I can't remember the city.

On another note, today is the most gorgeous day we have had thus far. I'm laying outside as I type this and it's hard to see my computer screen because the sun is just so bright!! (But I'm not complaining!!!) I forgot what it is like just to relax in the sun and hear the birds chirping and the church bells ringing, it's just perfect.

This weekend is the wildlife expo, so there are a lot of vendors in town. My boyfriend is coming up to check it out, so I'm excited to see him. It's going to be such a good weekend, and I hope everybody has plans to be outside this weekend because it's suppose to be so wonderful ALL weekend.

Well I'm going to keep this post short and sweet so I can enjoy the rest of my day!

Meet my best friend

(Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest)

(She's in the middle!)

I meet my best friend in 1st grade. Since then we have been inseparable. Her name is Shelby and I am not sure what I would have done with out her. Now that we are in different colleges, I do feel like we have grown apart a little bit, but I need to do something about that, because she has been a big part of my life.

She's one of those people that would do anything for anyone. We never once have got into a fight or any sort of argument. I honestly think of her family as a part of mine. Every summer I would go to the Florida Keys with them on their family vacation. We have made so many unforgettable memories down in FL.

I have never been this close to anyone (besides family) in my life. I have taken for granted our friendship, because some people have gone their whole lives without finding that one special BEST friend, and I found mine in first grade.

Sounds fun huh?

So here's Day 1:

Ten Facts Random Facts:
1. It bothers me when toliet paper rolls under.
No matter where I am I will flip it over so it rolls over the top (the OCD in me)

 2.  I have lived in the same city my whole life, until coming to college and it was a BIG eye opener for me (in a  good way!!)

3. I have been with the same guy for almost my entire life, and I love him to death.

4. I'm the worst driver in the world. BUT the only wreck I have ever been in was in high school when I rear-ended my best friend going 20 mph and totaled my car.

5. Not only am I the worst driver, I am the worst text-er/and phone call return-er. I am so scattered brained that I will look at my phone when someone calls/texts and say "Oh I'll just text them back later." Well I pretty much ALWAYS forget.

6. I have traveled all over the US and Caribbean, but my most favorite place is Maui, Hawaii.

7. I am not a fan of scary movies. I'm such a baby about scary things, it's pretty funny actually.

8. I am determined not to go to the tanning bed anymore and to actually wear sunscreen this summer.

9. I love to go fishing with my boyfriend. It's something we both enjoy and I love trying to catch the bigger fish or catch more. (A little competition is always fun!)

10. I LOVE summer!!! Back home we have what's called the Water Festival and it's a week long. Everyone just goes to the sandbar and has a good time and every night there is a different event planned! It's SO fun!.

My Valentine

Happy Valentines Day to my amazing boyfriend!
18 years ago, my parents and his parents use to set up play dates for us while our parents did their  "adult" thing. We have been inseparable ever since. We had 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade together, and we always had a little crush on each other.

Finally in middle school, my mom would let me go on a dates so we went to the movies as long as she dropped us off and stayed. (In middle school that was the most embarrassing thing she could of done)

In high school that's when things were getting serious. We have been dating for over 3 years now and I love him to death.

He is such a goof ball and makes me so happy to have him in my life.

I know it's cliche, but I don't know where I would be without him. Last summer I had a major life threatening surgery. He was at my side the entire way through and was so strong. He kept my spirits high and made me see the positive side of everything.

He is not only my boyfriend but my best friend. I call him and vent to him (the poor thing) about my day or something that has happened, and he just listens and gives me advice. He probably gives the best advice of anyone that I know. We have known each other our whole lives so he knows just what to say to cheer me up.

Here are a few pictures throughout the years:
(I got a new computer last summer and didn't transfer and pictures so I have a very limited amount!)

Playing around, as usual.

Glamour, Elle and Marie Claire

This weekend I had plenty of time to catch up on some Magazines that I haven't had a chance to read in the last 2-3 weeks. I went home this past weekend because some of my family flew in from IL. Between catching up and being a "tour-guide," I found a few interesting things. (Above is a picture I happened to snap right before leaving).

First off, lets talk about Miley. She's 17 and showing half her boob. I personally don't care, but I am sure she will catch a ton of grief for this spread. In all honesty it was a tasteful spread, but this just happened to be one of the pictures that caught my eye. Perez Hilton will have fun with this one!

On a brighter side, SPRING is around the corner. It is my favorite season because after the miserable wintery months of wearing blah colors, bundling up in multiple layers and just FREEZING; during spring it's  a time of bright colors, florals, skirts, dresses, and wedges.
Oh and I forgot to mention, I am obsessed with wedges! I just love them.

And turquoise:

Ahh, spring absolutely can not come any faster!!
Floral dresses are calling my name.

Also a few things that I noticed while reading were ads for new products. This mascara for your bottom lashes is such a good idea! I can't believe it took them this long. I use waterproof mascara because it stays on all day and when I get it on the skin under my lashes, its such a pain to get off. With this little brush it will make it SO much easier!

Sally Hansen also came out with Salon Effects. You just apply a "sticker" to your nails which is like nail polish and they offer all sorts of neat designs and colors. I have yet to try it, so I don't know if it lasts or even works. But if I do, I will let y'all know!

Off to watch the rest of the Grammys!

Such a hectic week!

I don't know about you but my week has been absolutely crazy!! I have had the hardest tests (and my #1 worst is tomorrow--Calculus, wish me luck!) and plus the usual craziness of the week.
I honestly didn't even think I would make it this far into the week without loosing my mind.
Then I remembered!

My good friend A gave me one of those inspirational books for graduation last year.
It has all sorts of cute little quirky quotes to boost your mood and just make you smile!
Ohh, how I needed that!

It really is just the cutest little book.

It's called Bloom and each quote refers to gardening, a flower, or something like that!
Also, to keep me going through the week I HAD to go to 32ยบ. Its a frozen yogurt place on King Street and I am obsessed! I go at least twice a week, but it's good for you. Most flavors are gluten free, 32 calories and dairy free depending on the flavor.

If you have yet to go, I highly recommend it! Plus they have any possible topping that you could imagine and you pay for by weight. (It's only $0.32 and ounce!!)

So one more day to go and I'll be stress free!!

Oh and this picture was on my phone and I couldn't help but upload because it's just so precious!
The yellow lab is my boyfriends and the black is his brothers.

Hope you guys had a good week so far!

Valentines Day is Approaching!

Valentine's Day is a day that you either love, or COMPLETELY hate. Either way, its a day that lets us eat however much chocolate we want without feeling guilty and gives us a day to watch sappy love movies like The Notebook while we veg out in front of the TV eating sweets.

Fortunately, I have a boyfriend of over three years, but I won't be able to spend the 14th with because I'll be back in Charleston and he will be in our home town. On the bright side of things, I'm going home for the weekend so we can spend a pre-valentines weekend together!

For the sake of the holiday, I thought I'd put together some gift ideas that are a tad more thoughtful then some roses and choclate, but are budget friendly!

                Untitled

I hope this was useful! I'm going to have to make this blog short and sweet because I have two major tests to study for!
So until then, much love,
M

Feeling like a Fashionista lately

Lately I have been obsessed with the latest trends, what's in-what's out,
and of course the "must haves." Due to a late night last night at King Street Grille, I have been laying in bed all day trying to catch up on the sleep I lost.
But I borrowed Style buy Lauren Conrad from one of my best friends last week and haven't had any time to read it, and what better to do today when the weather is nasty and still feeling down from a previous night. So I have
been reading it ALL day instead of sleeping.

I have always loved Lauren Conrad, even during her Laguna Beach days. Then when she did The Hills, I was so ecstatic I would be able to still follow her for another show! She always looks so simple, effortless, and classy. Her book Style, is very straight forward and it has made me want to have a wardrobe makeover. I have definitely fallen into the college trend of baggy tee-shirts, sweats, and Uggs.

No jewelry, no accessories, nothing but the basics.
YUCK.

So this was just the motivation I needed to get back into the swing of things of creating new outfits with the clothes I already have, and to add some new pieces and accessories. (And let's just say I'm so thrilled that we now have a Forever 21 on King because I love all their accessories, and plus--they are all so budget friendly)!!

Also this Sunday is the Super Bowl that I'm so excited for! I am in no way, shape or form big into the sport, but I LOVE the commercials. My boyfriend and I are going to one of his brother's house (they just moved in two weeks ago so I'm excited to see it!!) and they are having a house warming/Super Bowl party!

But my best friends and I are having a girl night tonight and we are about to watch the full season of Friends, so I need to go get some pop corn popped, and hop into my pj's!
